Sustainability is in our nature
At Hotel Harmony, we believe hospitality goes beyond a warm welcome. Since 2013 we have proudly carried the Green Key label, the international recognition for sustainable tourism businesses.
For us, sustainability is not about big slogans, but about hundreds of small choices we make every day. Choices that are better for our guests, our team, our city of Ghent and the world around us.

A tree for every conscious choice
Guests who take part in our Skip Cleaning programme do more than save water, energy and products.
Together with Go Forest, we plant trees for these efforts and contribute to a greener future.
Water without single-use plastic
Refill, don't throw away
Throughout the hotel, we offer free still and sparkling water.
Guests can easily refill their bottles, and together we avoid thousands of plastic bottles.
Closer to home tastes better
Local flavours on your plate
At breakfast, we choose local products and suppliers from the region wherever possible.
We also offer vegetarian and vegan breakfast options every day. We have visited and approved our local cheese farmer.

Sustainability starts with our team
Sustainability is not only about the environment.
Our team counts 27 colleagues of 17 different nationalities. We invest in training, equal opportunities and an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome.
Today, 81.6% of our staff come to work by bike, public transport or another sustainable means of transport.
Nothing goes to waste
A second life for materials
We believe in a second life for materials.
Worn towels are donated to a bird rescue centre.
Items from our Lost & Found that are never collected find a new home through the charity shop.
We also collect plastic caps and corks for reuse and social projects.

Staying several nights? Then you can choose not to have your room cleaned every day.
As an extra commitment, together with Go Forest we plant a tree for participating guests.

Free still and sparkling water is available in the hotel. Together we avoid single-use plastic.

The historic centre is literally on our doorstep. Many sights are within easy walking distance.
🚲 Choose the bike
Ghent is a true cycling city. We offer our guests free, secure bicycle storage.
